Welcome! My name is Janai Garrett and I am a visual storyteller based out of Philadelphia, working in both photography and videography. I started my journey in 2017 while interning with University of Delaware Athletics. From there I knew that I was meant to be behind the camera.
My work lives at the intersection of culture, emotion and movement, and is often rooted in creativity and the quiet complexities of everyday life. I’m drawn to moments that feel honest and true. My background in media, sports and personal storytelling has shaped the way I approach my subjects: with curiosity, care and intention.
A lot of my recent work explores themes like the Black Cowboy culture, community resilience, and so much more. Currently, I work as a Post Production Specialist in the Philadelphia area.
